Gum
First freeze the gum this can be done with some ice cubes in a bag
held on the gum until it freezes at this point just chip away at
the gum breaking off as many deposits as possible taking caution
not to damage the carpet fiber. The next step would be to apply
some Citrus Solvent or you may even use a Dry Cleaning fluid. Apply
the solution to a dry white cotton towel and work it from the outside
to the center of the spot, All these product works well I would
prefer you use the citrus this is a natural product that can be
rinsed more easily. Follow with an application of Home Pro Spotter

Note: Most inks and cosmetics respond well to spotting with a Dry
Cleaning Solvent. Test by applying a very small amount of solvent
to the spot. Follow the manufactures instructions
If little or none of the spot comes up on the towel, call a Professional
Carpet Cleaner for advice. Some ink and cosmetic stains can be permanent.
After the spot has been removed a final rinsing with Home Pro Spotter
can be applied to remove any leftover residues.
Types of spills and spots typically found in this category:
Acrylic paint, latex paint, varnish, oil stain, Elmer’s glue,
rubber cement, contact cement, etc.
Paints and adhesives come in two basic forms: water base and oil
base. You should be able to tell the type by reading the original
container and checking the suggested clean-up method. On fresh spills
you will use Avenge for water-based products and Dry Solvent Cleaner
for oil or solvent based products.
FRESH SPILLS THAT ARE STILL DAMP:
Absorb, blot or scrape to remove excess material
Determine if spilled material is water or oil based
On Water Based spills use Avenge. Apply spotter directly to the
spill and agitate lightly with a towel. If spot is hard or crusty,
allow spotter to remain for several minutes before continuing.
Apply light pressure with a dry portion of the towel to absorb the
material from the fabric.
Repeat if necessary. Although you can remove paint and inks as listed
above we would prefer you don’t try to tackle large spills
by yourself
On Oil based spills us Dry Solvent Cleaner follow (Manufactures
instructions.) We would prefer you call us as permanent damage may
result.
Give us a call we can totally flush the paint out from behind the
carpeting to prevent wicking.
